header length

I am planning on getting headers for my 83 F250 with the 351W. Its a 4wd camper special, with the stock lift. Right now I'm looking at Hooker competiton headers. Can you tell me if the collectors will hang down too low? I don't want to hit them on anything when I go offroad. Do you think I should look for some shorty style headers instead? I haven't seen too many of those that fit my engine. Any information would be great. Thanks
