I used to drive a 2000 F250 V10, Crew Cab, 4x4, Short Bed.37" tires on RG wheels, 4.88 gears, 5 star tuner. Chase rack on the bed with 4 9" HID's and 2 Soltek's on the front bumper. Sweet truck. 8.2 MPG on the over head computer.
Well, 3 weeks ago it rolled off the highway. All 4 occupants walked away with minor bruises. The rack acted as a roll bar and left the cab pretty much unharmed. Actually there is no damage on the rack.
Soooo...I need to replace my truck. Off course i want another superduty. I'm hesitant to get another V10 (it was super reliable to me) or try my luck with a diesel. And if a get a diesel, which year is the "good" for 6.0L or put the extra money to get a 6.4L, is it really more reliable?
should i expect a significative MPG improvement wit the same setup (37"s, 4x4, rack) going diesel?
Here is one in PA. I know it's a little far from you but it will give you an idea of what is out there. You might have to go on a little road trip to find the right truck. AutoTrader.com[FORD[F350[]][]]&listingId=334460122&listingIndex=3&Log=0
For some reason when I click on the ads I posted it comes up vehicle not for sale. Anyway I did a nationwide search on Autotrader for F350 V10 and got 7 pages of trucks. I was especially surprised on how many duallies there were. Happy hunting.
