Collector bolts ...won't stay yight!!!
I'm into my third set of collector bolts. I install them , get them good and tight, and then after a month or so they just slowly loosen up. What type of fastener\bolt do i need to use to get these damn collectors to stay tight?? I'm so tired of listening to that Muffled noise of escaping exhaust inside the engine compartment. anybody know of some bolts that will stay tight after they get hot and cool off. does somebody make a special heat treated bolt that is made for this particular application????? fd

I use the locknuts that have the liitle square or circle imprints on the outsides. They are the old style locknuts that hold by friction. I tried the aircraft style nuts but the plastic just melted off. Could also try Grade 8's with hardend lockwashers.
