i got a question about my sons truck its a 1988 f-150 with a 351 he tried to start his truck and it will not start so i pulled a spark plug and it has spark ,and if u spray gas in the throttle body it does at least try to fire,so i droped the gas tank and pulled out the fuel pump jumped it with a couple wires to the battery and it does run.I was told it does have two fuel pumps one in the tank and one on the frame so would it be bad ,i didnt get to try jumping wires to it yet it got dark on me so i will try again tomorrow.Thanks

Are you planning to replace the in tank/low pressure pump while it is
out? If it is the original this should be a consideration.
I personally had pumps that ran, but did not actually work.
These little pumps do most of the work in these older systems, pushing
fuel to the HP pump.
