There are lots of people on here with 35"tires with a level kit. The only issue you can run into is rubbing if you don't have the proper backspacing. I'm sure someone else will chime in with the specifics
I have a 2in leveling kit with 315/70/17's (about 34.5 i believe) and i just have a little rub at full lock on the fender liners. Which sounds loud but is really not a big deal
I have a 2.5 inch Autospring level kit and just put 295/60/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers on my truck last week. I have the factory 20's as well. I have a rub at full lock to the right on my upper control arm on the left side and when turning right the right front rubs on the frame just ahead of the control arm mounts. No big deal and it is better now since I inflated the tires from 35 psi that the shop put in them to 43 psi. They are 10 ply tires rated for 80 psi so they are fine at 43 psi. I had Nitto's before with 275/65/20 Terra Grapplers and they did not rub at all. The Terra's were 34x11x20 and the Trail's are 35x12x20 and look really good and not stuffed in the wheel wells. I have no rubbing on the fender flares or front valence at all.
