My E-150 has a false neutral when driving highway speeds. It is very erratic and has done it over the last 40,000 miles.
My suspicions is that it is something electrical. It doesn't do it in second or third gear, just overdrive and just at speeds over 50mph.
The symptom is that I will be cruising along and all of the sudden it feels like the vehicle is in neutral. I lift my foot off the accellator for a second and everything goes back to normal. Sometimes, it does it a couple of times a day and then it won't do it for a week.
Any comments or suggestions?
