egr delete?

hey guys I bought a 2006 6.0 about a month ago and love it! trying to catch up to whatever the last gut did. I see a hole on fire wall so im thinking he had programmer / tuner he took with him im getting one soon. as for egr delete I have an stainless straight up pipe that is not stock looks like part of the delete kits I see but still has egr valve ? is this a different type of delete?

A straight up-pipe (no piping to EGR cooler), usually means the past owner welded both ends of the EGR cooler closed. If you can reach the EGR cooler where the up-pipe is suppose to connect, you can probably feel the blocker plate that they welded inside.

You will have the egr valve in place and plugged in. As it was found to affect cooling fan operation if unplugged, is the cooler physically there? It could also be a sneaky delete from a company such as bulletproof diesel that sells a stock unit welded up as mentioned.

Another method was to use a bolt on blocker plate with clamp.

That is the standard egr delete kit. Just leave the egr valve there and connected, it keep the everything working properly

Maybe you have studs!! In the pic below, ARP stud/nut on left, and I'm holding the stock TTY head bolt.
