Now that you all are excited, no I don't have one, but i want to build one. My 94 Bronco is in pristine condition, but underpowered with the 5.0. I am hoping someone has already done this and hoping I can get a link to the thread. I have searched through this site, and my fingers (my 2 typing fingers) are bleeding. I am also curious what was different between a "regular" 5.8 and a "Lightning" 5.8. I've seen a few asking about Coyote upgrades, but I'm not a fabricator with deep pockets.
Gen 1 Lighting 5.8L engines came with a GT40 intake, iron GT40 heads, a Lightning specific PCM, shortie style tubular headers and IIRC hypereutectic pistons. The camshaft was different from the regular production 5.8L engines as well.
I don't think it'd really be worth going to Lightning specs when you could build a decent 5.8 for the same price. The GT40 intakes are nice but a bit spendy to find the GT40 5.8 lower. Almost better to get a good set-up from Edelbrock with a matching cam instead of the stock lightning cam. The GT40 heads are a nice upgrade over E7 heads. Not szaying theres anything wrong with the stock Gen 1 specs but if you are upgrading, don't limit yourself to those specs only.
Just my .02 And yes FSB members are fairly rude compared to FTE.

You are on to something with building a non lightning, what about
I agree there are better combos to be had by using aftermarket or non-Lightning specific parts. A Typhoon intake, AFR 165/185 heads, a decent cam (I would pony up for a roller), and a custom tune would be a killer combo without breaking the bank. If you kept the cam specs. within reason you could also stay Speed Density.
You're the meanest sumnabitch I know. Watch him(^---^) boys, he's a snake in the grass! I hear he even has a commie flag in his garage!
lol dude
im one of the nice guys.. i only talk crap when its being givin,

^^^ Lol so I know this is my first post. I'd like to introduce my truck. Its a one-off prototype 2015 Bronco with a factory twin turbo 6.2 mated to a TKO6000 sitting on narrowed Rockwells and 37" BFG street radials.
I understand if you guys are rude to me, jsut shows how jealous you are of my truck. I know you've never heard of it, thats why its a one-off prototype....
