fueling limit

is there a way to raise the limit of fuel that you can get from one swipe of a card at the fuel pump

my gas station will lock my card out for 24hours once i reach $125

Nope. That is a loss prevention feature on most cards that keeps both you and the gas station from being cleaned out on one swipe of the card.

I fillup in one charge, no problem.. (@shell or hess stations)
Before you pump go inside.
At hess, they hold your card while you fill up.
at shell, they preauth $200. I take my card and filup.
when i am finished they automatically adjust to actual usage, without me going inside again.
If you need a receipt you would need to go inside again.
i use discover card at hess. Shell card at shell.
Mobil does NOT do this for me..

we can swipe twice here no problem, we also have one station that doesnt not have you pre-pay...like the good old days pull up, fill up then go in and pay the bill.

One day this past summer, I took the Excursion out to fill it up, drove back home, and then took the F-450 back to fill it up too. The Excursion took two swipes as it seems to do a lot (without any problems), and I did one more swipe for the truck. Filled it up and too hit the limit. I put the card in the fourth time and it wouldn't accept it. Went inside and they couldn't do it either.

Credit card company says it won't allow more than three charges at the same place in such close time to each other. They did claim to make a note in our account though to say that we have large vehicles and may have to swipe multiple times at a gas station in a day. Haven't had a problem since, but I also haven't taken both on the same day again like that.

Most around here are $100, but a few PIA ones are $75. I only go to the $75 ones if they are the only one around or have a really good price, but generally I'll go to the $100.

I run the Cruze on Shell now, but I refused to take the Excursion there because the limit is $75.

I gas up at Costco without any problems. They use to only go up to $100 but they changed it.

I know, I know, this isn't the 'you know you drive an Excursion when...' thread but I couldn't resist!

I swiped the Ex 3 times a few times when the gas was high but don't bother with the third anymore.
