What makes these Tritons "modular"?

What makes these Tritons "modular"?
I was told years ago that the modular V8 had a 2 piece block or something like that. Why do they call them modular and what makes them different? thanks!

What makes these Tritons "modular"?
They are called modular because of the design. Each cylinder is designed to be compartmentalized similar to a mobile/modular home prior to putting the interior walls and such in. Each cylinder has an identical design when it comes to things like oil passages and water jackets. I like to think they are similar to building blocks like LEGOs. You can plug the cylinders together to make a block. This allows you a numerous amount of designs... they don't come apart like LEGO's as they are cast as one solid piece. It is only the design that is modular, the way they are built is not.
