On a 2005 Ranger 4.0 V6, 305 & 316 codes indicating cylinder 5 misfire in first 1000 revs. This occurs, obviously, at start up consistently. The truck idles rough but seems to run fine. Spark plugs were replaced. Swapped plug wires between cylinders 4 & 5; code stayed with cylinder 5. Replaced the coil pack; no joy.
Any suggestions? It would be nice to be able to diagnose without spending too much money. The coil pack was $75 for nothing.

Thanks.
I know it's been awhile since your post but did you ever get issue figured out? I have same problem with my 03 Explorer Sporttrac 4.0. Changed o2 sensor and that fixed it for around 1000 miles but now same 2 codes reared their ugly heads again this morning.
