HELP please

Can anyone tell me where the 4 wires on a 1992 C6 transmition go?

Due to a disability I had to change my 1982 F250 from a 4 speed to an automatic.
The trans I got to replace it with was from a 1992 F250, with 4 wires coming out of it, the 82 only had 2 wires.
When my son got done installing the automatic, start it up, put it in any gear, Nothing goes. Every thing is right ( I got in there with my son and checked ) except for the passing gear linkage and these 4 wires.
Please, can someone help us, I just can't afford to invest another cent in this truck.
Thanks
Lou

The four wires on a 1992 C6 would be the backup lamps (2) & the Start wires (R/LB) coming from the ignition switch and going to the starter solenoid.
The Start wires are the same ones you had on the clutch switch on the standard transmission.

Also note that the C6 needs a vacuum line to the rear of the transmission to regulate the oil pressure inside the transmission.

Bill
Thanks for your reply
The wires I have coming from my trans do not match what your diagram shows.
Mine are : Red
Red & L. Blue
Black & Purpel
Brown and Orange (slashes)
Also, it says one wire goes from the Ign. to the trans then to the solenoid, which stud do I conect it to on the solenoid? and do I disconect the wire that is already on that stud?
Thanks A Lot
You have been a very big help

Oh, By the way

Do you know where I can get a new modulater valve, mine got bent when the trans was droped. Ford dealer can't get one and local parts stores don't have one?
Thanks

That set of wire colors you posted do not match any Ford truck colors from 1983-1994.
Other than the R/LB color.

Your colors may have faded, maybe they are:
Red = W/PK (Ignition on?)
Red & L. Blue, = this one matches (R/LB).
Black & Purpel = BK/PK
Brown and Orange (slashes) = P/O

Try buying the valve from an transmission rebuild shop.

Those wires have nothing to do with it not going in gear. All they do is operate the reverse lights and not allow you to start it unless its in park or nuetral.
