Your truck's owners manual probably recommends 5w30 or 10w30. It may also specify oil weight on the oil filler cap. I would use a good dino 10w30 like Castrol GTX or Chevron Supreme. If you regularly experience climates below freezing, 5w30 may be a better choice.
I have a 1990 motorhome with a 460 and 63000 miles. I run exclusively Valvoline Durablend (part synthetic) 5W30 and one quart of Rislone every oil change. In fact I run this combo in all my vehicles.
EDIT: WHAT THE? I thought I was responding to the "Oil for 460?" post by Carpe Deim and it ended up here. Must have hit the wrong key. Oh well. Moderator, please move this over there or delete this if you get a chance. Thanks.

If you lean towards a heavier oil and are towing a load, how about Chevron Delo 400 15w40 or Shell Rotella T 15w40? These oils are designed to protect heavy duty diesels for extended drains. I still think a good 10w30 dino would be fine, just keep the drain intervals to 3,000 miles.
