Daydreaming...

So I've got a bunch of fords and just bought a 1975 24' boat (sedan style) with a ford 302 in it. From what I've read the the Mercrusiser 302's had 351w heads on them.. Haven't gotten it running yet.. it's sat for 2 yrs, but looks to have been properly winterized etc. It claims 188Hp on the valve cover. Not exactly over whelming for the size of boat.

Ok, so I've got a 67 Galaxy with a 390 it and my 01 with a V10. Never owned anything with a 302 before. I was thinking what a V10 would do in that thing.

It, probably wouldn't fit without heavy mods, but man it'd be fun to have a V10 in that thing! I sure love it in my truck and it sure is a torque monster!

It would probably be cheaper to put a modified 351W (408 cubes?) into that boat than to get a V10 to work

I didn't search long but only found marine manifolds for dodge viper v-10. I had the chevy 350 in my boat. It was a scorpion and after the build it was turning 325hp. I had the race shop do it stock because the ski supreme hull will only go so fast and that motor already did that stock. We played around with props though for hole shot and for top speed. 4 blade brass was the best for hole shot and 3 blade stainless was best for overall. Stainless was better on the rivers also because it went through little branches with no damage to prop.

V10's and all MOD motors for that matter dont like water..

so just based on that alone i'd skip the V10.

the plugs/COPs seem to be real sensitive to water penetration.

And I'd love 30 mpg out of my V10... Oh ya, it's 17k lbs and shaped like a brick... Maybe 10 would be more dreamable...
