replace t case speedo drive gear
Is it possible to replace the speedo drive gear in a transfer case without removing the t case from the vehicle and totally dissassembling it?
If so, could someone give me some hints on doing the job?
vehicle is 85 full size bronco, 302, 4 speed, manual transfer case.

Yes, just pull the rear output yoke, the speedo cable (with its gear), and the snap-ring that retains the plastic speedo drive gear, then slide the gear out. It's a good opportunity to replace the rear seal, too.
Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure you HAVE to pull the seal... Check here.
