Hi guys
I have a 1996 E4od tranny in my e-150. I tow a travel trailer and am in the process of adding a trans temp gauge. My Question is, without drilling into the pan, is there somewhere i can installteh transducer. Iver heard of a 1/8 plug on the drivers side, but I can't
find it. HELP PLEASE!! Thanks
James
There should be pressure test points somewhere on there for checking line presures. I don't know how accurate of a reading you will get there though.
Personally, I would drop the pan, change the fluid and filter and install the transducer in the pan while it is off. This way, you can clean any shavings out of the pan.

James,
The area you're looking for is, as lxman1 says, a mainline pressure tap. It is on the driver's side, 4 and 3/4 inches forward of the MLPS (trans. shift linkage). It is a plug but has the hex head of a bolt. Hope this helps, R.A.
thanks guys .. found it!!! now the only prob i have is the transducer is too long *&@*#$&@#.... now i have to find a shorter one of them.
what kind of weldable or bolt on can adapter can i use in the pan?
thanks all
Seems to me that if the sender is a bit too long, you could use a brass fitting which would take up the extra length while threading into the trans. housing and allowing the sender to thread into the fitting? Just a thought...........R.A.
