I just broke the rear axle in my 250 and i need to put in a whole new rear end! Need some advice! Has anyone ever put in a one ton or 3/4 hd in? it has a 355 in it now! where is a good place to get one?
tip;
stick with the 2nd gen.don't go any older than '93,and no newer than '97 if you can help it (which shouldn't be a problem.)
score it from an f250hd or f350 srw (pickup only.)
I have one out of a 1997 F250HD, but 4.10 gears, limited slip and 212,000 miles. I swapped in a 10.5 in its place. Still has good miles left on it. I am in SoCal.
I've never heard of a diesel with out a full floater. If you have a 94.5 with an auto tranny, you must have an IDI, as you could only get an early stroke with a ZF 5 speed manual tranny.
whoever looked up your axle info using your vin didn't do a very good job lol.
why are you not telling us what broke?

there's been stories of owners claiming to have the semi floaters in 1983 & 1984 idi diesels,but no hard core evidence that they came that way from ford even at that.since it was the first year or two,it's hard to say.perhaps they didn't think things through at first and or just wanted to use up some old axles,who knows.
one things for sure,gas or diesel,there hasn't even been anyone showing a pic of a light duty 9th gen f250.let alone having a light duty f250 diesel.whoever he talked to over at ford,didn't use his computer correctly lol.
