Slammed F100s wheel options.

I was wondering if someone could give me a decent idea of the room I will have after I put the CV front end under my truck?

What kind of offset can I run?
I am planning 2 inch drop springs and I have no problem with cutting the inner fenders out. I do not however want to flare the fenders any, rolling them is fine but I like the lines of the truck.

What is the largest rim that I would be able to tuck under the truck and still be able to turn it?

Not worried about the rear, axles flip will keep that all stock and cutting the bed is no problem.

Any help would be great. I would love to hear someone who has the swap and see pictures of your rim set ups!

I did the CV swap, and there is not that much room left if you really try to go low. Your best bet would to buy to steel CV wheels and tires, and get a good idea of how they sit.

When I did mine I sectioned the frame a little to much, and when she finally hit the ground. I had a hard time making right turns, and much less bouncing while making a turn. Unfortunately I hit a speed bump doing 25, and caught the weak part of the frame. So now I am getting a F250 frame which will only be sectioned a little bit so I have more articulation for cornering.

Here is a few measurements I have written down, and they are based off my 66 F100's frame "352FE/C6", and a rental CV. On my F100 I am running police rims, and tires which are the same size as regular CV's.

CV ground to cross member 6 inches.
F100 with CV swap. 7.75 inches before I cut my springs.
F100 after chopped spring 4.75-5 inches.

With out knowing what engine you have, and based off what I did I would cut cop spec springs for the desired drop. The F100 weight is quite a bit less then a stock CV. So drop springs for a CV may only drop you down to stock cross member to ground height.

If you want to lower it as much as possible I would buy some QA1 single adjustable coil overs from Summit racing. This way you can custom order spring rates that will allow for a firm yet smooth ride quality.

Lastly if you go for a true 2" drop, and try to run wider tires. You may already in the the problem area of the wheel lips. Atleast this would be the case with my 66 if I don't section the frame, and run QA1's for a true 2" drop. If you run stock 16's there won't be a problem I can see, but 17's and larger will get real close.
