Tested my TPS today and got the following results:
Reference Voltage 4.71
Signal Voltage Closed .73 WOT 4.3
Unplugged Resistance Closed .79 WOT 3.23 (on 20K scale)
Reference voltage seems ok, spec is 5, Signal voltage spec is <1 to < 4.8 so that seems ok.
Resistance spec is <4K ohms to >350 ohms, not to familiar with ohms but this seems way off.
Do you think the TPS needs tp be replaced?
The problem I'm chasing (posted couple weeks ago) is that from a standing start the truck feels like it's starting in 3rd gear. If i shift manually it seems ok.

Already replaced the MLPS. Made absolutley no difference, thats why I started looking at the TPS.
Trans is shifting way to early. By the time I'm at 10 mph I'm already in 3rd. If I shift manually, say start in 1, upshift to 2 at ~20mph, into 3 at ~ 30mph it runs fine.
I see in your sig you have 37" tires....has the PSOM be re-calibrated?
Your problem statement also suggests, as noted previously, you may have a MLPS problem. Perhaps you need to chase some wires? I would also suggested checking for codes. There are a few associated with the MLPS and solenoid pack operations.

The problem has actually been going on for a while. Since I don't use the truck that often it just one of those things I've put up with, just really started bugging me lately. I just attributed it to the large tires and maybe i should have put taller gears in.
Anyway, yes I have recalibrated the PSOM with an 8.49 constant
One thing to look at, the computer does change shift points etc with the low range 4wd switch closed so you cant over-rev while in low range, I found this out in planning my 351 4r70w swap in my 86, I have to add a switch.
Funny you should mention this. I was thinking about it this morning and came to the same conclusion.
So.... Went out this morning, put it in 4 wheel low and..... by the time i got to 10 mph it was in 3rd, just like the problem I'm having....so I think it is the 4WD switch thinking it's in 4 wheel low all the time and shifting accordingly.
Now the BIG problem......I checked several parts sites, and the Ford parts site and apparently the 4WD switch has been discontinued (wtf) and no one currently makes an aftermarket replacement........
Any suggestions?????
I think I'll pull out the one I have clean it, clean the connections and see what happens....
Buy the way I guessing that the 4WD switch is the one in the front of the transfer case??????
Run the part # through parts voice. You should be able to see if there is any nos stuff out there. Most dealers ably check in their region. And yes, I believe it's in the front of the case. I'm going to have to make mine out of a momentary switch, like a riding mower kill switch on the linkage. My case does not have a provision for a switch.
I went thru a situation alot like that on my 93 i had. I was running 31" tires and i f i manually shifted the tranny i worked fine. Mine was after i pulled the tranny to replace front seal and then plugged it back in and i had to have a tranny shop reset the computer to recognize the tranny. Dont know if thats the same issue your having but i thought i would throw it out their

Archion,
Haven't been able to locate a part #, maybe someone has it?

rla,
Should be simple to check. Maybe even clean it up, get some gunk off, clean the connectors and keep fingers crossed. Worst case shouldn't be to hard to by pass or do something like Archion suggested.
