I have decided to convert my 1949 F6 truck to a 12 volt system and would like to know if someone has photos of how to adapt the bracket to the new alternator, If someone knows which alternator will best fit, please let me know.
I have new photos of the sheet metal restoration process. (Please let me know if i have posted correctly the link for the photos, but dont get too distracted and forget to address the bracket issue).
You have the fat belt (5/8"). Do an advanced Search on here about alignment problems with trucks with fat belts. That slingshot style mount at MACs looks suspiciously just like the one they sell for cars.
This image shows a support (rail) to prevent the alternator from tipping to either side, basically it slides into the old support mechanism, and then it is tightened with the original bolt.
