found a 50 f1 with 51 front clip and bed for sale locally.... hastitle no frame and most the little parts are gone.... was wondering if anyone has photos of a real 50 dash and of a 460 in one of these trucks..... plus whats the wheel base and side to side meusurements of a f1 shorbed.... thanks fellas for any help...
From your description, it doesn't sound like you really have a truck, just a title that doesn't go with your pile of parts. Titles are supposed to follow the frame. I would be leary of using a title for my project if I didn't know where the frame for it was. If the parts are in good condition and are cheap enough, they could be useful, either to use, sell or trade for stuff you can use. I wouldn't give more than a couple hundred bucks for the mess. If you want a truck, there's plenty of complete ones still out there.
Photos of anything you want to see for these trucks can be found on google images.
tried to find 460 in 51 photos on google... lots of conversation but no real photos... thanks for the dash shot though... and he wants 400 for the package and it is in decent shape...i thought hte title went with cab...
The number stamped on the frame is the legal vin and the title is supposed to match that. Other tags can be easily swapped and are not reliable for ownership verification.
If you're looking for a project with matching title that you can use those parts with, I may be able to help. Feel free to contact me through PM or email. I'm not so far from you that you couldn't bring one home.
Show us some pictures of those parts, and we'll be able to tell you if they're worth $400. I agree with Merc--that description has failed project and bad title written all over it. We've seen this movie before. Let us help you find something else with a better starting point.
It that is the red one that is partially stripped with aircraft stripper, it has been for sale for a year as a complete truck, and he just recently began to part it out. Wondered why it didn't sell complete.
its in albany and i wanted to get others opions before i bothered with the 45 min drive... so no pics ore color...only talked to the owner over the phone... looking to build 85% custom truck rod so most of the original parts would boxed and sold...kinda why i don't want an expensive completee truck, id rather leave that for the restorers...
I seen the ad on CL but looks like you beat to me to the punch? I was intrested in the front clip but never got a reply. Was it worth it? I am not sure if trucks and Panels WB is the same but Mine was 114" for a wheel base. I bought the Panel in Lyons and my title used the Data plate numbers( one on the firewall was used ) but the guys are right the frame is the vin number.
didnt buy it still testing the waters for input...
For parts it would be worth it if is not to badly damaged, but to title it probably be a real PITA. Be better off to buy something more complete with a title to save some frustration, time and money. Just my opinion.
51 or 52 please..... as i don't really like the bar grill on the 48/49s and as it seems fellas are have in issues looking for front clips i'd rather not have too either... there are 3 48/49s in a feild along i84 near nampa idaho.. ones an f2 i think the other 2 are f2s.. and thres an f3 out by bakercity but all not exactly what im lookin for...
ive got a 50 F1 in the classifieds here. A few others here have some listed as well. Tinman has a pretty solid looking F 1 for sale in Montana, and im in salt lake so not too terribly far away??
