Transmission Fluid Change
While I'm researching an MPG issue. Here's something a bit easier to answer.
What the tanny fluid change interval in the big ford 4R100 trannys. I'm going to run synthetic; I know Mobil 1, Royal Purple, and others are top grade, but does anyone know anything about Amalie Synthetic Trans Fluid. I was told the local power company runs it in their Ford Diesel Transmissions..

I have never heard of it, but there are a lot of things I have not heard of. Here is a bump for ya.
For what it's worth, a member by the name of Mark, a retired Ford Transmission Engineer, recommends Mobil 1 synthetic ATF.

Ive never heard of it either.
Sniper: Ive been doing a lot of reading lately and going through old thread due to changing my fluid this weekend. A lot of people swear by Schaffer, Brian at BTS promotes the Schaffer and then like A/O said, Mark K. a former Ford Transmission Engineer says go with the Mobil 1. In my opinion I believe once you get up in the price range of greater than $10 a qt you really cant go wrong. I went with Amsoil just because thats what the shop right next door had.
