Negative offset wheels question

Negative offset wheels question
Seen different posts where people are saying to stay away from the negative offsets wheels. Anyone have any insight as to why? Seems like the majority of wheels available are negative offset. Looking at getting 18x9 with -12 offset, 4.5 backspace with stock size 275/70/15 tires. Anyone know why this wouldn't work oon my 2012 SDCC? Never had any issues with -12 offsets on my F150..
