Thanks for the pic. Im pretty sure I can fab something myself for less than the $20 for an orginial.
I need to figure out how to wire the speaker. There isnt anything to plug into. The baklite plug on the radio top doesnt have anything to plug into, its just a piece of baklite with two holes in it. I opened the case and it looks like I will have to solder some connections in.
I need a radio to use as a reference so I can figure out what I need to do.
If able to find a vintage speaker with the male 2 pin connector it makes connecting a set of speakers much easier, want to leave minimum of 3" or more lead. It's been many yrs ago, found the local auto parts store carried pens of various shapes and sizes and found a set that fit into the female plug in the baklite so I spiced wires to the pins and ran the wire to the speackers. Imagine one can remove the bakelite piece and solder wires directly to the connections. Another possiblilty, if running dual speakers tie 1 of each together, use solder and while the solder is molten hot try and shape the wire to fit into the baklite female connector. Anyhow, food for thought??
I swapped out the old capacitors in the radio, which GREATLY improves it's performance, since the old ones are likely dried out and not functioning as they should. I also added an input so I could hook up an MP-3 player to the radio, too... Nothing like listening to the I-Pod on a tinny, Mono Speaker
