Transmission removal

I am in the process of doing some major repairs to my truck. It's a 1990 2.3L 4x4 with a manual shift. Upon taking the extension housing off the tranny two pieces fell. One is a clear cap, and the opther is a rubber seal that his ribs on the inside that indicate to me that it would belong on the input shaft. I was just wondering if anyone might be able to help confirm where these pieces may go, and if possible maybe someone knows of a place where I could get a picture to show me where these seals belong.

Thanks

I thank you for welcoming me to this truck club. I am very pleased to be among other people who share the same interest in Ford trucks that I do. I also want to thank everyone who has helped me answer this question.
