Engine Life
how much life can i get out of a 1990 302??........i take good care of it.....change the oil and all that good stuff....right now it has 148,000 on it........runs like it was new. can i get alot more life out of it?

depending on how hard you work the engine,if the oil & filter
is changed on a regular basis, you should get a lot of life from the engine, i work in a oil change center and i see 200k to 350k on these engines,with nothing done to them.

If you want to have a better idea of the health of your engine, do a compression check. 25% variation is the wear limit. Also, at your next oil change, have an oil analysis done. This will tell you about wear metals, internal coolant leaks and such.
The rear axle and transmission have both gone out on mine, but the 302 is still going strong.
