New User, looking for wheels

Hi my name is Garrett i live in springfield Mo, I have a 93 F150 4x4 extended cab, blue and silver,

Looking at getting a set of new wheels and was wondering if anything on the 97-03 body style will work?

I plan on getting some pictures up and becoming an active member of the forums

No, 1996 back unless you use adapters.

I believe some other forum members have used the lightning and f150 harley rims by slightly drilling the lug holes. Im not sure what they used for lug nuts, but the wheels are still centered by the hubs.

That sounds like an awful idea.

Why would anyone do this with thousands of aftermarket wheels to choose from.

I read the forums alot. I looked up old posts to see how its been done. Its 5 x 135mm vs 5x139mm. Other users have drilled the lug holes to 11/16" diameter and then bolt them on using the newer style flat washer lug nuts. There is a pic on the forum on the f150 20inch harley wheels mounted on a older generation 94-96 ford lightning . They both use the same center hub diameters, so they would still be hub centric.

Its actually been done on the 97 -02 f150s also. The early rims (97-99)had smaller stud diameters than say a 2000-02 so older rims have been drilled to bolt to the 00-02 trucks

I saw one yesterday for sale with late model wheels but didn't have time to stop and inquire about the method. Plan on going back though.
