I'm beginning to wonder sometimes if it's worth it..... One of the first things I did on my truck was a complete brake job when I got it. I'ts been mostly sitting in the garage while other mechanical, body work, etc. have been worked on. I drive it occassionally, but finally feel confident that the mechanics are dealt with. Then I had the brake power boost installed and the truck pulled wildly to the left on semi-hard braking. So I finally gave in, and took it to an old-school mechanic, and after a couple weeks found the problem. Turned out to be the new front drums were out of round, and new pads were oozing some kind of tar-like crud when the brakes were applied. When he showed me the shoes, well, you'd have to see them to believe it. After several $$$, the '62 stops like it's ment to, and I feel a whole lot better driving it now. But are parts what they used to be? But, at least I'm that much closer to getting the truck done. Everyone have a real good Veteran's Day!
