well now they say you learn a new thing every day,but i didnt want to learn this .
had a brake line up and pop on me 3 days ago...cant bleed em because im afraid of breaking the bleeders off...they are in bad shape...
i plan toi change wheel cylinders this weekend and i wont have to worry after that ...that is if i can get the drums off to change them...
anyway i am laying on the dirt and rocks replacing the bad brake line and notice something odd...the back shackle of my drivers side leaf spring is up against the bottom of my boxNOT GOOD and the part of the mount that runs from the frame mount to the spring shackle is in 2 pieces...so long as i can either break those bolts or unbolt them eventually i will be good but my question is how do i get the end of the spring down away from there?
i weigh about 250 and i picked myself up off the groung with this thing ...HELP
If you jack up your truck by putting the jack under the frame, the truck will rise and take the weight off the leaf spring, allowing it to return to the proper position. If the spring is jammed in place, you may have to pry it loose with a LONG bar. In this case, only jack it up slightly so the housing doesn't fall too far all at once. The shock will keep the housing out of place, but letting it fall too fast increases the chance of you getting hurt, and we don't want that, do we? Hope this helps!! Yes, it has happened to me( the hanger part, not the "hurt" part.LOL)

Spring hangers should be available at your dealer for about $26. I also found them at Fordpartsonline.com for $25 each. If I keep my '93 I plan on replacing mine because I recently noticed heavy rust on both rear spring hangers.
I had the same problem. The first time I used one of those mini floor jacks between the spring and bed. That was a total pain. On the other side I borrowed a 4-ton hydraulic ram kit with all the attachments. That was a ton easier.
