2001-2003 Excursion

What are the differences between 2001 thru 2003 ford excursion 7.3 liter?

The differences are on the interior as well as headlight/parking light changes. On the interior, they offered bucket seats in the second row of the '02 and later. A few differences in the leather on the seats and a little change on the dash. The engine has no major differences in them. Some of the '00s had forged rods in them. Other than that, not much other than cosmetic changes.

Didn't the 02-03 7.3 PSD get a bump in HP?

One big difference is in the '01 model year built on certain months where they had the mechanical diodes in the transmission. If that fails, you're looking at a rebuild. I don't quite recall between which months.

Dont forget powdered metal rods. All 02-03's have them, some 01's got the forged rods, its a serial number check.

They are pretty much all the same mechanically though besides those 2 things. A few updates to trouble parts but most of those trucks got the upgraded replacement parts somewhere down the road.
