Hi, I just got a 2004 F350 and I am not sure if what I am experiencing is normal. On startup in the morning when it has been sitting for a while it has hesitation shifting gears for the first half mile or so until the transmission warms up. (I think)
Doesnt have any problems at all throughout the day. This is my first diesel and I know nothing really. Had everything inspected and they said the transmission fluid looked good. Also how smooth is the transmission shift supposed to be? I can feel it slightly when it shifts at low gears. My dodge 1500 shifted alot smoother although I assume thats normal
I didnt describe it very well. Transmission has a little tug when it is in and out of first gear but other than that changes fine when warm. Is that normal or should it be the same all the way through?
Anybody got anything else on the reason it has gear changing issues for the first minute or so? I get it up to 2k RPMs and it just sounds like it wants to change but doesnt unless i lay on the gas a little harder than normal. Half mile down the road once it warms up everything goes back to normal.
Thanks for the help in advance
EDIT: I live in South Florida, cold is not an issue
