Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. I have just purchased a 1978 F-150 4x4 and am in the process of building it from the ground up. I saw a truck that I am kind of using as a reference of what I hope it becomes. I am including the article and a picture of it in this post and hope that the owner or friend of the owner can contact me so I can ask some questions. Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Tony Cannon of Prince George, Virginia is the lucky owner of this clean '78 Ford F-150. A 9-inch suspension lift and with a 3-inch body lift combine to give the truck plenty of altitude and attitude. Under the hood there's a rowdy 468 big-block V-8 that easily spins the 39.5-inch Boggers. Harnessing that power is a four-speed manual tranny that then hands the horses off to a trusty NP205 transfer case.
I think is ditch the 3 inch body lift you really don't need it if your foot to run 39's & you won't have that big ugly gap between the body & frame.
I have a 77 SWB with a 8 inch suspension lift & can fit 40's under it.
No body lift, I agree. I am not a fan. Only need suspension. I am not going for the tallest truck but want a certain look from it. I picked this one because of that. It has an aggressive stance to it. It also looks like it has larger axles but I can't tell from the picture?
If you want to make that truck, I would swap the d60 under the rear. Then swap the front outers to 8 lug. That will give you bigger brakes and the the same lug pattern as the rear. Then do the 9 inch lift.
