Headlight problem

Hi, first post for me here.

I just bought a '97 E-150 and while driving it for the first time at night I found that when I turn the turn signal to the right, the headlights go out. Could it be a bad ground causing this?

sounds like the "combination switch" is the culprit. thats what they call that turn signal lever with everything else attached to it.

I wonder if the one from my '94 F-150 is the same? I had to change it on my truck because the wiper switch went out on it. I could try before I buy if it does.
