Anybody Tried This
Thanks everyone.
My original size was the 235/75/15 (not the 225/70/15)anyways, I replace it with 265/70/15 and I experience better cornering & handling .... my other choice was the 30/9.5/15 size tires.
To answer your question, mounting larger tires would increase your MPG .... by a little bit .... not much percentage wise.... I have no idea ... never had the chance to calculated it
What you wanna do is NOT to go big/high on the aspect ratio because that might mess up your speed sensor and it might mess up your ABS sensor readings....
For 235/75/15, aspect ratio = 75% 0f 235 = 176.25 mm
For 265/70/15, aspect ratio = 70% 0f 265 = 185.50 mm
The reason why I didn't got with the 30/9.5/15 is because that's a 6 ply tire & would be heavier than the 265/70/15 tire; thus lower MPG for me.
Do this with your tires & the selections you have. Hope this helps.
ps. DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE YOUR SPARE!!! .... To save money, you can grab a used tire for this. What I did was I kept 1 from my first set of 265 & have them mount it on my spare....
