Ok, short and sweet. My 86 originally had 31 inch tall tires. I put bigger 31 inch tall tires on bigger 15 inch wheels. Same hight, same speedo reading. Now I'm going to a 32 inch tall tire, one inch taller. What kind of diff. should I expect to see in my speedo reading? Thanks!
The actual height of a nominal 31" tire is about 30", and a nominal 32" is actually about 31" tall.
30/31=~0.97 , so your new speedo reading will be about 97% of your actual speed. That means that at 10mph, you'll have an error of ~0.3mph and at 100mph, your speedo would say ~97mph (assuming it was PERFECTLY accurate before ). At 60mph, your speedo would show ~58mph.
