Dealer repairs

I just got my 2011 back from the dealer they have balanced the tires 3 times now for a vibration that is felt at 70 mph . It looks like the clear coat on the rims has been damaged from where the old weights were .

Can this be sealed up?

I don't want to have it peal off 5 years from now when it is something that was damaged by warranty repairs .Has any body else had this problem I have the 20" rims with 18,000 miles.

You may want to try clear enamel nail polish - that should provide protection to exposed metal and should not be visible and the applicator is small enough to get into all the exposed areas

Also have them use stick on weights inside the wheel rather than pounding them on the outside of the rim. Be sure they clean the inside of the rim with mineral spirits prior to sticking weights on.
