Being in the path of the storm myself I have been moving all I can to higher ground. Blessings on all of you who are about to get hit with it. Stay safe and dry. It is just starting and the electric already is flickering. So who knows when I will be back. Good luck to all.
Good thoughts for all of you in Frankenstorm's path. Hopefully you're prepared. I'm on the outskirts of it...2"-4" of rain and wind gusts to 50 MPH...nowhere near as bad as many!!!
I want everyone near to the storm to TAKE PRECAUTIONS!
There will be flooding and trees WILL TAKE OUT POWER LINES!
It's too late to get generators.
Get the hell out of the storms path.
I know what a storm can do.
You all strap in and stay safe. We started to get hit yesterday, heavy wind and rain all day. Today is worse for us here on the Va coast and heading out the door to deliver mail.
Those of you North of Va are going to see a much different storm than I will. Please take all precautions.
I've been trying to keep up on this through the news but, I don't trust the national media to report accurately and it's nothing at all like actually being there...
Pictures tell a tale, though... Some of the pictures coming out of New York and New Jersey are... Wow... Is this the first time New York has been flooded like that?
Hope everyone's OK...
Yesterday, it was reported that the storm was downgraded from hurricane to a post-tropical storm with "hurricane characteristics" - in my book, if it has "hurricane characteristics", then it's a freakin' hurricane...
We've been getting good winds since Sunday afternoon. Nothing bad locally, just an occasional gust that got the windows to whistle last night. My wife told our youngest daughter that the sound you hear is Sandy whistling. She was a little scared till she fell asleep. Eastern Ky has been hit with some snow though.
A little OT but someone posted a "loop" doppler of the durecho (SP) last June(29th) or July. I was hoping they or someone would post the same for our girl Sandy.
Thanks!

Yes. Thank you. But (there is always a but) I was hoping to find it a GIF Image. I am not able to view youtube or any other types of those sites here at work and I don't know how to save from thse sites either. Maybe some one knows how to do that if it is even possible.
I am looking for the GIF Image type to save to one of our shared drives at work. After each storm I take pictures of the destruction ie, blown over trees, fences and such. I want to start to put the doppler image in the folder as well.
