wiper arms

Anyone put windshield wiper arms from a newer model vehicle on a 65 f250 ? I'd like to be able to use newer wiper blades that I don't have to special order. What model cars/trucks should I look for at the scrap yard to pull them off ?
Thanks

I just bought some stainless wiper blades off ebay that fit the stock wiper arms and match the stainless window trim perfectly...

I wonder about this myself. My `66 only came with one wiper arm....

C1SZ-17526-A wiper arm same: 1961/66 F100/1100 / 1961/67 Econoline / 1963/69 N/NT/T500/1000 / 1967/69 F800/1000.

*1960/68 Galaxie / 1961/65 Thunderbird / 1962/69 Fairlane / 1965/70 Mustang / 1966/67 Falcon / 1967/70 Cougar.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B8SZ-17528-B 13" long wiper blades same: 1961/66 F100/1100 / 1963/69 N/NT/T500/1000 / 1967/69 F800/1000.

1959 Galaxie / 1958/60 Thunderbird.

* All these Passenger Cars have 15" wiper blades except Thunderbirds that have 18" wiper blades.

There are no other FoMoCo vehicles I could find from 1949 thru 1989 that have 13" blades, other than what I listed.

I'd like to find some arms from a 90's or newer vehicle that will fit and that I could powder coat or chrome to match. This way I could pick up wiper blades at any store.

You have to match the splines on the arms to the splines on the pivots. I doubt you'll be able to find any other arms other than what I listed, that'll work.

Found some on an early 90's f150 that fit the pivots. Have to shorten them but I think they'll work.

Are you thinking you'll need to shorten just the arms, or just the blades, or both?

Shortened the arms by about 3 inches and got 18 inch blades to work. Just have to paint them now.

They don't look as nice as the chrome arms but its nice to be able to have more choices for blades and pick them up anywhere.

If the black bugs ya, why not remove the blades, scuff them up with some scotchbrite, degrease them and then shoot them with some rattle can silver? I'd bet they'd look great!

I tripped into Advanced Auto and found they carry 3 different "universal fit" profiles for wiper inserts. One of them was a match, or close enough, to the originals. And they happened to be 26" long which is exactly twice the length, so you end up with a buy one get two deal. Its a bit of a project to refit the original blades, but worth it if you like the original stainless steel setup.

Not clear if looking for the wiper arms, blades, or both. Purchased a set of Black Trico 13" blades that fit on the original arms, worked great just could not get my head around the chrome arm and black blades. Yesterday found the local CarQuest auto parts store carries the 13" insert, cost me $6 for the set, and took about 1 miniute to remove the old and insert the new. Trico carries the inserts but the auto store only carried the Carquest brand #454-130, any auto parts store should be able to cross reference.
