Blue smoke

OK, I've got 120,00 miles. I use a block heater for cold starts because if I don't, the motor sounds like it will grenade on me. It seems the injectors are the problem. At warm starts it's hard to notice the injector problem. I got a hold of Hot Shots Secret oil additive and there was definately smoke right at start up, but it had a different smell. The smoke went away. About a month went by and now I have blue smoke about 6 miles after initial warm up and while idling at that point. Also, I removed my chip to bring the truck back to stock (less catalytic converter.) The smoke is noticable for sure. EGR valve? Any ideas?

For the last month, I've had the same problem. It took 1.5 qts of oil to get me back to normal level on the dipstick today, so I know mine is burning the oil. I tried Rev-X in the last month and the problem only seemed to get worse. Did you figure your problem out yet?

That's what I was afraid of. I'll be bummed if this turbo only lasted me 25k miles. I'm surprised that they aren't able to repair the turbo rather than just replacing it. I guess it's time to start saving up. Thanks for the help.

yeah I used super secret oil additive and it relieved the STICTION on the injectors. I did work.

Head Gasket?

OK, I had pressure tests done in two different places. My super diesel mechanic who I am related to can't find the leak. He did the rear end lift up for the egr and still can't find it. It has been narrowed down to the head gasket I think. My question is this. Has anybody heard of a head gasket sealant that works on high pressure diesels? 6L 2006. I researched online about several different ones and they all have something to say about their competition. I'm looking at $3500. including the cooler vs $130+ for the stop leak. I just can't see the stop leak working. I am using 1/2 gallon of water per hundred miles. Oil in water, no water in oil. Looking for some advice from a pro. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I am birdogron@yahoo.com.

If the stop leak will plug the headgasket leaks then what else is it going to plug up? I wouldn't do it but that just my opinion.

If you have oil in the coolant your oil cooler has failed, so I would get that repaired before you condemn the head gaskets. You will need to do a cooling system flush with some type of degreaser like simple green to get all of the oil out of the cooling system.
