Add cruise control to 97 XL?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a way to add cruise control to a 97 that never had it? I have looked at aftermarket stuff but I haven't found one for my truck yet.
I think I will have to find some factory parts to make this work, but aside from the steering column I have no idea what else is in the system.
I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Is it an auto or a manual? If it is an auto the only parts you need is the steering wheel pad that has the CC buttons on it.

It's an automatic. I've been thinking about changing out the column to get a tilt column anyway. That's great news, thanks.

Thanks very much, but I think I'm going to swap the whole column. I've been looking at new trucks lately but I can't stop thinking about how much I could do to this truck 1/2 the price of a new one.

It should be pretty much a plug and play then with a tilt and CC column.

For my manual truck I plugged the CC horn pad and a sensor under the hood at the brake cylinder. 15$ and I had cruise.
