Yeah that's not a bad looking truck at all. You'd be amazed what a good cleaning and re-painting those rims with some new tires would do for it instantly.

Since your goal is to reveal the frame for updating "plumbing" (a good idea, but be sure what you are going with for brakes first.) put in a new master cylinder, preferably a dual circuit unit while you are changing the lines. First remove the front doghouse as a unit. Since you'll be repairing or replacing the radiator, pull it first. I'd suggest pulling the tranny with the engine. With the front sheetmetal off it will be easy, and you will want to inspect it internally anyhow if you are planning on reusing it and replace the input and output shaft seals at the very least. If everything else is being cleaned and painted you'll probably want to clean and paint it as well.
