Is the Police spected out Expedition drive train anyway different from the standard one.
Specifically looking for differences in engine and transmission internals.
My gut feeling is they are identical but I would like to be wrong on this one.

Steel wheels, sway bar (rear IIRR), upgrade brakes & a tune.
Pretty much nothing different drivetrain wise.
Same engine, trans, suspension and brakes.
The rear axle does has 3:73 standard
Front skid plates on 4x2, front, transfer & gas tank on 4x4.
17" steel wheels on regular length
17" aluminum wheels on EL
I just got an '08 Expedition EL SSV, not sure if they ever really did a true police interceptor package? Generated window sticker may give you some info:
Old thread but are the upgraded brakes for the Police Package/SSV just better pads and rotors and may better calipers and are they interchangeable to civilian expeditions.
Basically, I want to know if I can get police package rotors and pads and install them on my civilian Expedition EL without changing any other parts.
I have a Crown Vic CVPI and on those the Police calipers have higher temperature seals, better quality rotors and better friction material pads than the standard civilian Crown Vics and the standard civilian parts will fit without any issues.
Yes they will interchange. The calipers are the same for all models across the board. The biggest improvement in stopping power would be if you can figure out a hydroboost system for these...that would make a night and day difference.
