Howdy guys. Just got back from a road trip to AZ. Got a few interesting truck pics that I thought you'd be interested in. I made a new folder in my gallery. Gold King Mine. You can google that too and see more about the place. It's just outside Jerome, AZ. Ryan and Morris, if you EVER go down there, you absolutely have to check this place out!
I got some scenery pics as well, but I thought you'd like these ones better.
Put 10 600km on the Windstar with 7 people and all our gear and the car topper as well. Still got 23 mpg. Lots of mountain, city and rather quick interstate driving too.
I'm almost ready to go again.
Welcome back Dave, glad you had a good trip! I`ll Google the Gold King Mine later as I just got back from the Calgary area. I wouldn`t mind going back to AZ again, maybe this winter and meeting up with friends staying there this winter.
As for troubles, we had a minor one. Lost the alternator on the interstate north of Phoenix. The battery held out for the 30 miles to the nearest town with a parts store. Found an O'Rielly's and changed it in the parking lot.
I also changed out the rear shocks with some coil-overs to help with the load, but that wasn't a parts failure or anything.
Ive heard a lot of guys will go down to the states, buy tires and get them installed, then head back up here. Apparantly a guy can save lots of coin doing that!

I usually order tires from discounttireonline and have them shipped to a place just on the underside of the border. I cost me half for the winter tires for my Buick and likewise for my Corolla. Mind you I had to pay to get them installed, but the garage here in Kenton is really cheap. $14 for install and balance.
I understand. I usually wait until I have a few things to get. Or if it's a big enough order, it saved me enough anyway. Mind you, I'm only 2 ours from the border, it's a little more convenient.
