hey guys,
I was just looking for some advice to keep my baby able to run to that million mile mark! I let it warm up before I start to go anywhere and I let it idle when I get to where I'm going for a few minutes (I read it extends the life of the turbo if I do that). I also check all of the fluids every few days. If it matters, it has 290k and has been well maintained (the engine oil is not midnight black yet). Thanks you guys very much in advance!
Frank
Letting it run after you drive in theory does extend the life of the turbo. I have ran turbo timers on all my moded turbo cars in the past, I dont know if they will work on these trucks. In my opionion any truck can hit the million mile mark if you have money involved. Just keep it well maintained and you can hit it, maybe not with the same parts you have now, but it can be done.
Things ARE going to break no matter what, so deal with it and just drive the truck the way you enjoy it.
