That's about 55 miles east of the quad cities or 45 miles north of Peoria.

Hey Ggg6... West Sub is still there... I think I heard somewhere that it treated more stab wounds and gun shots than any other hospital in chicago area... It's nice to be famous for something, I guess...

Springfield here, home of the seat of Illinois government (don't tell Richard Daley) and the Governor (Oh I forgot, Big Rod lives in Chitown and doesn't come to Springfield much!)

Before I retired I traveled all over Illinois and spent lots of time in the 'burbs and Chicago. Now I work part time at a small college in central Illinois and just enjoy life!

Just visiting here, I live in Kansas now. I grew up in Oak Lawn which used to be a suburb of Chicago (79th & Meade). Later I moved back and lived in Arlington Heights and went to high school at St. Viator and freshman year of college at Northern Illinois University at Dekalb, Ill. Anyway, Almost all my family still lives in the Chicago area so I visit once in a while.
