I have a 1995 F-150 with 5.0 liter engine with 64,000 miles on it.It started pinging two months ago.I changed the spark plug wires,plugs rotor and cap,ck timing and it is dead on 10 degrees BTDC.I don't believe it is carbon buildup because I pass emissions with flying colors,the reading are way low.There are no engine codes.I had a 1997 Ranger I bought new and at 23,000 miles it ping all the time.The Ford dealer couldn't fix the problem and Ford bought it back from me.Now my 95 F-150 is pinging which I bought used with 35,000 miles on it.Is this a common problem with Fords.

I had the same problem on my 1992 F250 460 EFI. A site search on pinging will give a huge list of fords with the same problem.
If you are running regular gas try switching up a grade. My pinging was virtually eliminated by doing this.
