While in there check the condition of the connector and the printed circuit that it mates to. I've found tarnished traces on the printed circuit that were causing problems and even traces that weren't glued down any more.
You can clean the copper with a pencil eraser if you are careful. But, don't go side-to-side but rather along the trace, preferably out from in the recess toward the end of the trace. As said, the ground is pin #2, so check that one out closely.
I have changed out my IVR with both a new one and one from the salvage yard. No luck. My dash lights don't flicker that I have seen but they are dim. I have to remove all the blue caps to get enough light to see. But I understand that is a common issue. I will be opening up my dash this weekend to get at the G701 to clean it. I'm also going to clean some other grounds and maybe hook up some new ones. I'm pretty sure this is the problem. Just a matter of finding it.

I will look for all of these, THANKS! I'm not able to imagine where the G-701 spot, is, but will keep looking. The dash lamps are dim, very dim and may be I have a few burnt out lamps. The seat belt buzzer and lamp are sometimers too so that is my clue.
Was this ever found out? This is sounding EXACTLY like my issue. I'm going to delve into all the suggestions since the IVR didn't fix it. Just wanting to get a checklist together while I have the dash apart.
