brakes not working
about a week ago my brake warning light went on. so i stopped and put more fluid in the section of my master cylinder for the rear brakes. about a half a mile down the road the light came on again so i checked when i got to work but i was still completely full on fluid. I bled the brakes thinking that i might have gotten some air in the lines. did no good. replaced the master cylinder. did no good. in fact now the front brakes are barely working. there is no noticeable evidence of any leaks anywhere and it is still holding fluid. i am completely stumped. any help would be appreciated.

There's no fluid level sensor in the cast MCs, so that's not where you should look. The old (pre-'84) brake light is only turned on by the balance switch in the proportioning valve going off-center. The Haynes manual explains how it works, how to recenter it, and what causes it - usually a leak, so look closely. If the fronts aren't working, it's probably one of them.
