Weird HPOP problem> Please HELP!
I have a 2003 6.0 diesel with new hpop, ipr and icp. Air test passed no leaks in the system.
Problem i'm having is the new hpop doesnt seem to build any pressure. Being an early model i am measuring the icp voltage at the pcm.
I pulled the valve cover off and removed the air test plug. (this is the early model so its a straight rail with the T27 plugs) I then had an assistant crank the engine and no oil came out of the plug hole, now heres where it gets really weird. It actually was sucking air!
Has anyone seen these suck air? is the new HPOP no good? Or is this part of the way it cycles the air out of the system to start? Should i fill both of the rails (passenger and driver) with oil and try again?
Please help asap.
Thanks in advance!

You Close the IPR Valve But Im with ya
How long have you cranked it Could be the case you need to crank longer to fill the HPO system ya know the rails and stuff

Ive cranked it for close to 5min in 15-20 second intervals. (killed the batteries a couple times)
and yes i close the ipr (not the icp) lol, been a long day!
The weird thing is that there feels like theres suction at the test plug on the injector rails i expected when i pulled that plug that it would quickly push the air out of the sytem and push lots of oil out. Is there a way to make it easier/faster on the sytem to push the air out? On newer ones i've heard of guys filing the icp hole up with oil, but being an early model the icp is located on the hpop cover and a pita to get to.

Yes the new pump had the bearing in the side. (ive heard of those popping so i looked)
The icp filter screen is clean, pain in the *** to get to though!
The screen under teh oil cooler was ripped and i replaced it before putting new pump in aswell.
I'm going to pull the icp and see if oil comes out there whille cranking if it does i'll assume theres blockage somewhere in the lines.
I'll post what i find...

This is getting really frustrating...
So my old pump (looking at it from the back of the motor) needs to spin counter-clockwise in order to build pressure. The new pump i got needs to spin clockwise to build pressure. So theres the problem of why it doesnt build pressure. Now the question is what's the solution? I've been told by the supplier (who have been great btw) that all the pumps should spin clockwise' Theres no possible way for this to pump oil in the right direction with it needing to spin that way. Has anyone ever encountered a pump that blows oil the wrong way?
I've bench tested both the old and new pump by putting oil in the outlet and confirmed rotation needs of the pump. very weird i know but thats what i'm up against!
