hi! i have a '90 f-250 diesel extracab and at a speed over 37 mph
i get this annoying road hum or vibration. it seem to be comming from the front end (but it's kind of hard to tell while driving)i had a loose front wheel bearing nut (drivers side) i think i fixed that but maybe it's a sign that the bearing is shot? the hub doesn't get hot at all.oh yeah, i also swapped the front tires no change. any ideas? Any help would be appeciated Thanks, Gary
I have a 93 F-150 and it had a vibration at the speed your are talking about.Found it to be the drive shaft was bent. Don't know why.Took the shaft out brought it to the drive shaft shop.Put it back in and I was happy again.
Hi Gary, does this hum change pitch if you move the steering from side to side? If so I can pretty much guarantee a bearing fault. If it is bad enough you can jack up one side at a time and spin the tire as fast as you can by hand and at the same time put your hand on the bumper...you may feel it there as well.
